I am participating in the organizing challenge this month over at A Bowl Full of Lemons. Week 1 is all about organizing your office space. I spent several days working on this office, all over the new year's long weekend just past. It was worth it. I am so much happier already. Yay me, haha!
Seriously though, I have been praying for the motivation to tackle this ugly monster for months (okay, seems like years, but oh well). I have finally made some real progress! When I say ugly monster I do not exaggerate...here is the before shot that I'll call the money shot. It's the one picture you'll look at and say "wow, and I thought my office was bad"...soak it in for a moment and feel better that this is not your mess...

Wow, right? Super-bad over the top seriously would make a type A person freak out - mess! My hubby uses this room all the time, and I stay out because I can't stand the mess. He's got man stuff all over the place (ammo, knives, etc.) and he also coupons! Yes I said he is a couponer. I love that he is eclectic just like me, but I think that is all my fault. I started doing it and then lost interest (and time) but he loves it. He gets the papers on Sunday and cuts his little heart out and puts them all in a binder. The problem is, he leaves the mess everywhere and lets the papers pile up for weeks...yep, weeks. Could not take it anymore. I also really needed a spot for my own desk to fit in the room. So, I decided this challenge was the perfect opportunity to knock this one out.
Taking Shape...
I still have some work to do in this space, especially turning the closet into another work space, but that will happen later.
I still have a few boxes to organize and papers to shred, but I now have a spot that I can comfortably tackle those tasks without wanting to run out of that room screaming with my hair on fire!
Looking forward to next week...organizing the kitchen~oh my aching pantry....

ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job!! I have a lot to tackle with an office "re-do" and I thank you for the inspiration and motivation! I also have Boxers and they make wonderful "assistants" when I'm working from home. You should be very proud of all you accomplished! Looks awesome!
